Passenger dies after 4WD towing caravan collides with car on highway

A man believed to be in his 60s has died after a two-vehicle crash on a highway in the heart of NSW on the weekend.

He was airlifted to hospital following the collision between a Kia and a four-wheel-drive towing a caravan, but died of his injuries on Monday.

The two cars collided on the Newell Hwy at Dubbo just before 10.15am on Saturday.

“Four people from the Kia were taken to Dubbo Base Hospital for treatment,” NSW Police said.

“A passenger was later airlifted to Westmead Hospital for further treatment.”

He died in hospital on Monday, police confirmed.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
