Purple Friday Caravan surprises students, makes stops across Baltimore ahead of season opener
The Baltimore Ravens take on the Houston Texans in Sunday’s season opener at M&T Bank Stadium, and that means the Purple Friday Caravan is back.The caravan made its first stop before 8 a.m. Friday at the Dunkin in Cockeysville with the Marching Ravens, cheerleaders and Poe helping fire up the crowd.Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski said he thinks this year’s team could go all the way.”(There’s) lots of excitement here,” Olszewski said. “I think the Ravens are going to rise to the occasion.”The Purple Friday Caravan then made stops at several Baltimore-area schools, surprising students with pep rallies. Children at Milbrook Elementary School in northwest Baltimore were excited to hear the band and watch the cheerleaders perform stunts.”I just love the Ravens, and it was so exciting,” said Demi Mohamed, a student.”I loved that.
