An arrest has been made in the destruction of several Michigan State Police squad cars in Sault Ste. Marie, and authorities say the suspect did not go quietly.
The vehicles were set on fire, and bullets were fired into them, at around 3:30 Wednesday morning, as was caught on surveillance film. Then at around 2:00 Thurssday morning, after numerous tips from the community, police went to a location on Riverside Road and searched a camper.
That’s when the suspect started firing shots at troopers, and the officers returned fire, hitting the suspect. The suspect…who has not been identified…was taken to hospital for treatment. No law enforcement officers were hurt in the exchange.
We wil have more information as it becomes available.
